and money needed to prepare and regularly maintain their data solely
for the upload to some portal website!

— they have many good reasons to enter, edit and administrate
their product data anyway for
many purposes and unless the upload to the portal
becomes a fully automatic side-effect of their regular daily work
with their detailed product data. |

This is exactly what YellowParts and CATpool are offering for the first
time ever due to the huge wealth of free application software, which is
used for many different tasks in the daily business of data vendors and
which makes the data upload a matter of pressing a button (or even less
depending on the user-selected settings).
Because a portal alone is never sufficient and will always fail in acquiring
the needed data in larger volumes, we are offering these solutions and
answers in response to other people's failures and bad experiences:

value" for their content.

The problem of semantic data field
standardization and how we solved it
This is the second major problem why all previous attempts to build-up
product portals had to fail:
It is extremely difficult to achieve semantic attribute (data field)
standardization across different vendors.
This is the mandatory pre-requisite for searching for technical attributes
and values and without this feature a product portal and database
make much less sense. |
Our solution
This is why we have embedded eCl@ss
fully into Elestore
and into the CATpool-PCM
and YellowParts-PCM
software, which are both based on Elestore. eCl@ss is also used on the
portals to group companies, products and product catalogs and to standardize
product attributes across vendors. eCl@ss is an essential component and
the only such system in the world delivering these features (apart from
Etim, which is specialized in only the electric industry and which is
integrated into eCl@ss; Etim is supported by Elestore).
As a side-effect the users profit from another great advantage: The don't
have to bother and waste time on defining their product attributes, because
this is solved in almost all cases by the fully embedded eCl@ss definitions.
The user only has to link articles with its eCl@ss product group and all
needed attributes are defined automatically.
