Support

The YellowParts software comes with a very comprehensive user manual. If you need additional individual support this is charged on a by case or time basis where each support case may take up to 20 min. If more time is needed then additional support cases are invoiced.

We offer you a rebate if you want to purchase several support cases in advance. Then can be used within one year after purchase.

Support packages

Some YellowParts products and services regularly require some support and some time to clarify handling or technical details with the customer. This is why we have included standard support packages into some YellowParts prices.

Experience shows that the time needed in practice is covered by the time, which is included in these suport packages. We don't look on a few minutes if the included time is exceeded and we only charge additional support time if the included time is substantially exceeded, which is rarely the case.

Training

In most cases the use of the YellowParts software is learnt by self-studying and referencing the very comprehensive user manual. If you want training beyond this we offer you individual instruction sessions via the Internet. We use VoIP Internet telephony and a software, which lets you see the PC monitor of the instructor or vice-versa, if needed. Training is offered in units of one hour or more but we recommend a maximum of four hours per session.

VoIP and telephone costs

We strongly recommend and for training we have to require the use of VoIP (Voice over IP) Internet telephony (1). There are no telephone costs included in these service prices, which occur only if you cannot use VoIP for some reasons (2) In these cases we must charge the telephone costs plus an administrative surcharge. However, we do this only for countries where the telephone costs are substantially exceeding the usual rates of about 2 € ct per minute.

Terms

We are working with the absolute minimum of administrative overhead and we therefore have to insist on an upfront payment for services and products. If you are a large company where this is not possible we can invoice you the classical way but this will require an administration surcharge covering our additional costs.

Notes

(1) Currently we are using two VoIP systems: Sipgate, a German system that is available in Europe including the UK. Unfortunately, they are rather focussed on selling hardware and their software for use with headsets is lausy. The second system that we use is Skype, which we see extremely critical with respect to security. This is also because they were bought by Ebay and Ebay is a company that is well known to very closely co-operate with USA spying agencies like the CIA and the NSA.

Skype is also reported to use encryted private protocols with unknown overhead traffic, which are regarded as a great security threat by many experts. Also, it is reported that they are collecting serial numbers and other informaton from the PC where the Skype software is installed. All of this does not sound good and safe to us.

All of this are good reasons why we are eager to include a different system into YellowParts as soon as possible but this will take a few months until we can offer a fully included and secure VoIP Internet telephone system into our software. It will definitely come. Until then we have to live with Sipgate and Skype.

(2) Some large companies do not allow the use of VoIP for principal or security reasons. In these cases we have to invoice the additional costs most of which come from the additional administrative work needed.
